New Changes Are Coming!!!

When I first started Bridging Gaps Tutoring Services, LLC , my goal was to help students by being the link between what they were learning in school and the mastery of these skills. It's been an amazing experience working with my clients. Being able to break things down in ways that help them understand, while building confidence and watching them grow has been a fulfilling journey.

Before I meet with any student, I first have a conversation with their parents to gain insight on what the child's needs are. One of the common themes in our conversations is frustration with the progress of their children's learning and not knowing how to help them. While there is a plethora of resources and information, it's not always easy to navigate if you don't have a background in education. I have worked with parents who don't understand the new ways in which their children are being taught, and don't want to pass along information that would later be deemed as incorrect. I have encountered parents that have tried to advocate for their children, but teachers have not been very responsive. I have also worked with parents who know how to help their children, but their children don't respond well to their teaching methods. Another most important theme in our communication is that parents just want the best for their children, so that they have what they need to succeed in life.

This is where Bridging Gaps comes in. As I've been reflecting on where I'd like to take Bridging Gaps in the future, I feel the Lord leading me in an unexpected direction.

One of the goals in this season is to help parents help their children by educating them, being an advocate, and equipping parents with resources they need. Parents are more than capable of advocating for their children, as well as educating them if they choose to; they just need the information and tools to do so. In order to achieve this goal, Bridging Gaps Tutoring Services, LLC will be adding to the services we already provide. Blogging about important topics for parents, providing educational resources (free and paid), and creating videos for students and parents are some of the new changes we plan to implement.

Now, this doesn't mean we're quitting tutoring children, they are the heart of what we do! We're just gaining a new group of students, Parents! Just call us the #familytutors We hope you're just as excited as we are!
